Second and Third Ride

I am making progress on our pre-ride checklist and got a second and third ride on my boy Party Barn! I am so excited! He is such a neat horse but there is much to teach under saddle. On the third ride, he was beginning to get the idea of follow a feel and move off my leg to go forward. He is a bit nervous with a bit of curiosity that is coming up more and more. To be honest, it has been a little hard to focus cause I am so excited to be up there and all I want to do is bond and praise him! Even though he is retired from on career, he is still so very young and still developing physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel it very necessary to work at his pace for now, as I want to set him up for success for the rest of his life, not just for this competition. We have a very long ways to go to get to bridleless and all the fun stuff I have planned! But I am loving the journey! And feel so very blessed to have him as a partner.
