How I Came to Be a
RRP Competitor

My name is Julie Robins and I have loved horses since I was born.  In 2005, I founded Aiken Horsemanship Academy in Aiken, SC.  Our mission is to develop confident riders and well-behaved horses ready to excel in any discipline.

I have worked with hundreds of horses from a variety of backgrounds, and hundreds of their owners and riders.  My passion is to help people better understand their horse, to create safer and mutually beneficial relationships for both the recreational and professional rider.

In 2014, as a side gig, I joined the newly developing team for an Aiken location of Saratoga WarHorse as the instructor.  In doing so, I have had the opportunity to work with many off the track thoroughbred racehorses as they transition on to secondary careers.

In 2016, I had the opportunity to attend the Retired Racehorse Project Makeover as a groom/sherpa for a horse named Bodie (aka Boss Daddy) who was brought along for the competition by a board member of Saratoga WarHorse.  It was an amazing experience and I wanted to be part of the project to help retrain off the track thoroughbreds.  So in Dec. of 2016, I applied for the 2017 Makeover and got excepted.  And I hope you enjoy following along on my progress in working with Party Barn.

All my Best,

Julie
